Lord our Lord

Here’s a new recording project. Lord, our Lord is my setting of the eighth psalm. I hope you’ve read the recording instructions on the Online Recording Project page.

It’s in four sections/verses. Just sing it right through. The range is quite modest. High Eb for sopranos. Low Bb for basses.

Remember, if you notice any conflict between the backing track and the score, please let me know. And always follow the score.

“LORD, OUR LORD” VOICE PARTS & BACKING TRACKS

Click the coloured buttons below to see your Voice Part. Then listen to the Backing Track for your part. Then please record yourself over the Backing Track. Hum the tune-in note and then sing the note in time and tune with the count-in. This gets you in tune and helps me to synchronize the part. If you want to hear how it sounds, here’s the best mix so far.

Section A is mp. Section B is mf. Section C is f. Section D is mp.

DICTION

Finally, the first two syllables elide in “th_immortals” (Section C). It should be pronounced with a bright “i” sound: “theemortals”. And brighten the vowel on the in “within the ocean path” (Section D). Make it closer to thee. It’s always good to brighten the a bit, but particularly so when it is on a long or accented note.
